The Alpha-MSH Fragment
KPV (Lysine-Proline-Valine) is the C-terminal fragment of alpha-MSH. Despite its small size, it retains potent anti-inflammatory properties. It works by inhibiting the NF-kappaB pathway, which is the master switch for inflammation in cells.
Research highlights KPV’s effectiveness in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and ulcerative colitis, reducing intestinal inflammation. Additionally, KPV has demonstrated significant antimicrobial activity against Candida albicans and Staphylococcus aureus, making it a dual-threat for gut health.
