The Hunger Signal
GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6) was the first synthetic hexapeptide designed to release GH. It works by mimicking Ghrelin, the “hunger hormone.”
This dual action is its key feature: it releases Growth Hormone (for repair and muscle growth) AND massively stimulates appetite by activating cholinergic receptors in the stomach. This makes GHRP-6 valuable for individuals struggling to eat enough calories for mass gain or recovering from cachexia (muscle wasting conditions).
